Jemmy was Moll’s Lancashire husband. Although he deceived her into believing he had property because he thought she was wealthy, he actually loved her. He was an attractive, good-natured highwayman who landed in prison at the same time as Moll. She later arranged for him to be transported to Virginia with her and repaid his good humor with gifts and a home.
